Notice of Drinking Water Treatment Technique Violation(s)

City of Daingerfield , TX1720001 has violated the treatment technique requirements set by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Title 30, Texas Administrative Code (30 TAC), Section 290, Subchapter F. Public water systems are required to properly disinfect water before distribution, maintain acceptable disinfection residuals within the distribution system, monitor the disinfectant residual at various locations throughout the distribution system, and report the results of that monitoring to the TCEQ on a quarterly basis.

Inadequately treated water may contain disease-causing organisms. These organisms include bacteria, viruses, and parasites which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches. During October & November 2023, sufficient levels of chlorine residual were not met in more than five percent (5%) of monthly samples.

The following actions are being taken to address this issue:

City of Daingerfield is a purchase water system so a boil water notice was issued for the area of Freeman Ave, Ewan Blvd, Rutledge Blvd, Irvin Pkwy, Wildwood Dr and Gifford Ave including West Elementary School. Continuous flushing was done until chlorine residuals were increased in the area.  This issue was resolved on 11-29-2023.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (i.e., people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

La ciudad de Daingerfield, TX1720001 ha violado los requisitos de técnicas de tratamiento establecidos por la Comisión de Calidad Ambiental de Texas (TCEQ) en el Título 30, Código Administrativo de Texas (30 TAC), Sección 290, Subcapítulo F. Los sistemas públicos de agua deben desinfectar adecuadamente el agua antes de su distribución. , mantener residuos de desinfección aceptables dentro del sistema de distribución, monitorear los residuos de desinfectante en varios lugares a lo largo del sistema de distribución e informar los resultados de ese monitoreo a la TCEQ trimestralmente.

El agua tratada de forma inadecuada puede contener organismos que causan enfermedades. Estos organismos incluyen bacterias, virus y parásitos que pueden causar síntomas como náuseas, calambres, diarrea y dolores de cabeza asociados. Durante octubre y noviembre de 2023, no se alcanzaron niveles suficientes de cloro residual en más del cinco por ciento (5%) de las muestras mensuales.

Se están tomando las siguientes acciones para abordar este problema:

La ciudad de Daingerfield es un sistema de compra de agua, por lo que se emitió un aviso de hervir el agua para el área de Freeman Ave, Ewan Blvd, Rutledge Blvd, Irvin Pkwy, Wildwood Dr y Gifford Ave, incluida la escuela primaria West. Se realizó lavado continuo hasta aumentar los residuos de cloro en la zona. Este problema se resolvió el 29/11/2023.
