Welcome to the Daingerfield Economic Development Corporation 

The Daingerfield Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) is committed to supporting business growth, job creation, investment, redevelopment, and community improvement in Daingerfield.

Through its Type B Economic Development programs, Revolving Loan Fund Program, and Type B Beautification Grant Program, the DEDC provides assistance for eligible projects that strengthen the local economy, support business development, and improve the community.

Applicants are encouraged to contact the DEDC Executive Director before submitting an application to discuss the proposed project and determine which program may be appropriate.


Type B Economic Development Corporation

The Daingerfield Type B Economic Development Corporation supports eligible economic development and community development projects using dedicated economic development sales tax revenues.

Projects are evaluated based on their economic impact, public benefit, financial sustainability, job creation or retention, private investment, and alignment with the DEDC’s economic development goals.

Revolving Loan Fund Program

The Daingerfield EDC Revolving Loan Fund Program provides financing opportunities to eligible businesses located in or planning to locate within Daingerfield.

The program is intended to support business development, expansion, acquisition, job creation, and job retention.

The Revolving Loan Fund is a separate loan program with its own application, financial review, underwriting, collateral, and approval requirements.

Eligible Uses of Loan Funds

Loan proceeds may be considered for eligible business purposes, including:

✔ Business acquisition

✔ Business expansion

✔ New business development

✔ Real estate acquisition

✔ Machinery and equipment

✔ Eligible building improvements

✔ Working capital

✔ Job creation and retention projects

General Loan Guidelines

The Revolving Loan Fund generally provides:

  • Loan requests of up to $80,000 per project, unless otherwise authorized by the DEDC Board
  • A general guideline of at least one job created or retained within 12 months for each $25,000 in loan proceeds
  • Interest rates established as part of the approval process
  • Repayment terms based on the type of financing and the useful life of the financed assets
  • A general expectation of at least 10% applicant equity investment
  • Collateral requirements
  • Personal guarantees from business principals

Final loan amounts, interest rates, repayment terms, collateral requirements, and other conditions are determined through the application, underwriting, and approval process.

Type B Beautification Grant Program

The Type B Beautification Grant Program supports eligible improvements to commercial properties and qualifying projects that improve the appearance, economic appeal, and overall attractiveness of Daingerfield.

The program is intended to encourage investment in visible property improvements that strengthen commercial areas and contribute to community redevelopment.

Eligible Improvements May Include

✔ Façade improvements

✔ Exterior painting and rehabilitation

✔ Landscaping

✔ Signage

✔ Public art

✔ Streetscape improvements

✔ Other eligible exterior property improvements

Program Highlights

  • Grants generally range from $1,000 to $20,000
  • Applicants must generally provide a 50% match
  • Projects must meet all program eligibility and documentation requirements
  • Work must comply with applicable building, zoning, permitting, and other requirements
  • Approved applicants must enter into a performance agreement
  • Funding is issued according to the approved agreement and applicable project milestones

The DEDC can help determine which program may be appropriate for your project and explain the application requirements, review process, and required supporting documents.

Applications must be complete before they are scheduled for formal consideration.

Depending on the program, applications may require staff review, financial analysis, DEDC Board consideration, City Council approval, and execution of a performance agreement or loan documents.
