When is my water bill due?

Water bills are due on the 10th of each month. To avoid a late fee, please ensure payment is received by that date.

When will my water be disconnected if I don’t pay?

If payment or a payment arrangement is not made, water service will be disconnected after the 20th of the month. Please check the disconnect date on your bill as it changes monthly. If unsure contact City Hall at 903-645-3906 ext. 9 before the 20th

Can I get an extension on my water bill?

Yes! Residents are allowed one payment extension every 6 months.
To request an extension, you must:

  • Contact our office at least 2 business days before the cutoff date

  • Call 903‑645‑3906 ext. 9 or visit City Hall

How do I report a water emergency after hours?

If you have a leak, outage, or other urgent issue outside business hours,
Call the Morris County Sheriff’s Office at 903‑645‑2232
They will notify our on-call Public Works crew to assist you.

How can I pay my water bill?

We offer several convenient ways to pay:

  • In person at City Hall

  • By phone using a credit/debit card: 903‑645‑3906 ext. 9 or 833-560-2609

  • By drop box after hours (located at City Hall)

  • Online payment portal 

Where do I go to start new water service?

Visit City Hall at 101 Linda Drive or email your completed application and photo ID to melinda.precise@cityofdaingerfield.com. A $150.00 deposit is required for all new accounts. Click this link for more instructions. 

What if my check is returned?

A $30.00 returned check fee will be charged for any payment returned due to insufficient funds.

What are your office hours?

We’re open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Drop box payments can be made anytime.

Can I transfer my service if I move within the city?

Yes! You can request to transfer service to your new Daingerfield address. A $50.00 transfer fee applies. Your deposit may carry over if your account is in good standing.

How much is the deposit for new water service?

As of October 1, 2025, a $150.00 refundable deposit is required before service is activated.

How do I pay the deposit?

Deposits can be paid:

  • In person with cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card

  • By phone using a credit/debit card at 903‑645‑3906 ext. 9

When will my deposit be refunded?

The deposit will be refunded within 60 days of account closure, provided your balance is paid in full. You may also elect to donate your remaining deposit to City utility or public service programs.

Can I donate my unused deposit to the City?

Yes. When closing your account, you can choose in writing to donate any unused portion of your deposit to support municipal utility or public assistance programs.
