The City of Daingerfield – TX1720001 will be conducting a Free Chlorine Maintenance Conversion throughout the entire water system beginning June 29 through July 17, 2026.
Free Chlorine Maintenance is a temporary process where the City’s usual disinfectant, chloramine, is switched to free chlorine. This routine maintenance practice helps clean and flush the water distribution system to support the continued delivery of high-quality water.
This conversion and flushing process helps remove biofilm and other organic material from pipes, improves the effectiveness of the disinfectant, and helps ensure the water system remains clean and safe year-round.
During this period, residents may notice more hydrants flushing throughout the City. This is part of the process to move chlorine-disinfected water through the system quickly and efficiently.
